Eliteserien

The Eliteserien is the top division of Norwegian football. Because of the country's climate, its season runs from spring to autumn, within the calendar year, with 16 teams that play each other home and away.

Rosenborg dominated the league for many years, and more recently Molde and Bodø/Glimt have established themselves as the strongest clubs. Since its calendar does not match that of Europe's major leagues, its teams are in full form while the rest of Europe is in pre-season. It is a high-scoring league with a strong home advantage, partly due to artificial turf and long trips.
